Couples coaching is great for:

  • Working through current issues
  • Being proactive when it comes to future issues
  • Ongoing maintenance and check-ins to feel as though you are staying on track and holding yourselves / each other accountable –> which builds confidence in each other and security in the relationship

I know how frustrating it can be when you feel as though you can’t get through to your partner or when you have difficulty overcoming issues. When you find yourself wondering, “Why is this so hard?” or “Why can’t we just get it together?” or “Why don’t they understand me / care?” … it can cause a lot of stress, anxiety, and frustration. It can even start to feel as though the relationship is hopeless or as though you can’t make headway. And when you have relationship stress, it causes a negative rippling effect in other areas of your lives.

That’s where I come in…

Having someone who has an extensive understanding of human behaviour and the modern world of relationships can help you feel like you are finally working together as a team and gaining momentum.

My approach is to make both people feel heard and understood. There is no “taking sides.” I base my opinions on logical thinking and what makes sense, which is why both people have to be open to hearing what I have to say and understand it is for the greater good of the relationship. I am all about honesty, clarity, and practical solutions vs. fluff and sugar-coating. I want to see couples make progress vs. feeling the same leaving the session as when the session started.

In my experience, the main reasons couples find themselves having issues and unable to make headway in a relationship is due to:

  • Not putting yourself in the other person’s shoes when making decisions.
  • Lack of effort and complacency, which often leads couples longing for those “beginning” times
  • Broken trust
  • Not feeling heard
  • Unable to compromise
  • Lack of respect
  • Feeling like you can’t get on the same page
  • Unhealthy patterns
  • Unable to let go of past hurt and resentment

In order for coaching to be effective:

  • Both people have to be on-board and genuinely wanting to work on the issues / be committed to maintaining the health of the relationship.
  • Both people have to be willing to have uncomfortable conversations.
  • Both people have to be open to listening to what the other person is saying. The key is to REALLY listen to what your partner is saying without looking for a way to jump in and defend your actions or to find a fault in them to then excuse your behaviour. When this happens, you’ll just keep going in circles and no one wins.
  • Both people have to understand it’s not about taking things personally. Love and compassion over ego.

Goals:

  • Increased self-awareness
  • Increased understanding as to how your behavior is affecting your partner
  • Improved communication
  • Ability to navigate conflict constructively before it unnecessarily escalates
  • Find mutually agreeable solutions
  • Cut through confusion and misunderstandings
  • Increased confidence in the relationship
  • Feeling as though you are headed in a more positive direction
  • Reconnecting on a deeper level

Which leads to:

  • Increased intimacy
  • Strengthened relationship skills
  • Increased mutual respect
  • Higher levels of trust
  • Happier and mutually fulfilling relationship

COACHING OPTION #1 – more intensive

  • Begin coaching by having a separate (solo) call with each person (60 min x 2). I favor this option because it allows me to really get to the nuts and bolts of what is going on from each person’s perspective. It also enables me to see the differences in how each person perceives the relationship and issues.
  • Have a call with both people together to get on the same page with problems, challenges, and goals.
  • Ongoing weekly / bi-weekly sessions (or as needed) to work through issues, as maintenance, progress check-in, to focus on any new issues that come up.
  • Both people can also have solo calls along the way and book as needed.

ORDER HERE:

60-minute COUPLES CALL (2 people on call) @ $159.00 USD

60-minute SOLO CALL (1 person on call) @ $99.00 USD

COACHING OPTION #2 – less intensive

Begin coaching with both people on the call to discuss current issues. On-going sessions for maintenance as needed. Great for one-off issues that pop up. You book whenever you wish to have a call.
